Shining a light on cost saving lighting installations

As a nation of pet lovers, many have come to rely on the pet care products from British domestic pet care company, Bob Martin. One of their two production sites is located on Cardiff Docks.

Throughout February 2017 Electrio worked with Maser Lighting to upgrade the existing lighting system and wiring at the Bob Martin Site on Cardiff Docks. They used Digital Lumens light fittings since this would provide an improved level of lighting. In addition, each light fitting had an individual control, connected via a network commissioned by Maser Lighting.  

To meet the requirements requested, the controls allowed dimming to a lower output, plus lights only operated when staff were within certain areas. The payback period on this £140K installation is estimated just over 1.5 years. 

Due to the busy nature of the site, the upgrade to this installation was completed whilst the site remained fully operational.
