Electrio won a competitive tender to install N+1 supplies for a new theatre block at Southmead Hospital. The cables were installed on a new cable containment system - previously built by our team - through a network of underground ducts and newly created cable trenches.
The cables were approximately 180 meters in length, with three x 150mm 4-core cables laid in parallel - which made for a challenging installation.
We had bespoke panels manufactured to allow for suitable termination points from two different sources. These were fed from two separate transformers and generators, providing a resilient N+1 supply for the new building.
Much of the work needed to be carried out in a confined working space but our experienced staff rose to the challenge that this brings and the project was successfully completed within a tight time frame.
